Doesn’t the weather just affect our mood? When the weather is nice “like in the spring or fall”, it just puts us in  a mood, doesn’t it?  But when the weather is wet (or too cold) it just puts us in a lazy mode,  makes us just want to come home and cuddle in bed, no?

Today or rather this morning’s weather was hot but I liked it better than thunderstorm and heavy downpour!!  Puts me in a   h o  l  i d  a   y   mood :)

Just about a week or so ago, it was all rain, rain & rain – almost everyone in the family was having colds too!  While driving back home from work one evening, I recalled seeing an engulfing dark clouds and it rained in less than maybe 2 minutes later!!  I don’t like these kinds of rains as it only make it “hotter” (invite lots of mosquitoes too!! )

what a week

with 2 comments

Havent blogged in a week.  Been rather busy -  semester has started. this basiclly means tutorials, more readings, books, and other stuffs!

The weather of late has been somewhat wet, wet, wet, wet!  Last sunday evening was the worst! It rained non-stop for several hours;  causing flash floods in many areas – rendering several stretches impassable to light vehicles.  It was reported that in places like Telipok, Menggatal, etc, ‘4×4 vehicles and trucks could go through the submerged roads while Kancils and Kelisas had to wait for the water to subside’.

 To Ian, it’s fun!

We got rather worried when the water level increased to an ‘alarming’ level – the garage was full of water – ya, you can say ‘flooded’!  This has never happpened before. Part of the reasons this happened, i think, has to do with poor drainage system, drains clogged with debris and weeds (forever the problem)!  Luckily, the rain stopped soon after. If the water had gotten into the house,  the damage would have been both heartache and headache!! All our doors and cabinets were contructed of wood, which of course would swell, shrink and crack!

yes, it’s orange

Thought I’d post this picture just for fun:)

We passed by this bus-stop or bus-stand  mon to fri;  Ian always says to me, “Look Mom, the orange bus-stop!”.

I havent taken any bus ride in decades!  This picture reminds of the times when I used to take buses to school and when I first started work.  At that time, when the bus schedule is regular and it reaches your destination, you’d be thankful.  If not, then you’d end up waiting and waiting; at times you may even have to transfer buses 3-4 times before finally reaching your destination.  That was the scenario then.  Now, I’d like to think that the bus services have tremendously improved over the decades.

Enjoy your weekend!

earth-moon

last night, dec 12 seemed ‘a night to remember’ – or to be more specific,  a large FULL  moon in 15 years!  what we witnessed, according to national geographic, was  the moon  at the closest point to the earth. click  here   for more information.

did you manage to see the moon at its fullest? i tried to capture the image  but didnt turn out good.  to get a real good one, i need to learn lots more picture taking techniques; of course a ’powerul’ cam would help too :)
