kid’s concept of sharing
Share with me? Not a chance
what’s mine is mine, what’s yours is mine!

Ian had just finished sipping his glass of orange juice, within just minutes that is! I haven’t even started with mine! So I said, “Yay, good boy! You’ve finished yours!” He looked at mine, pointing at mine and said ”That one is mine too”! He quickly moved it towards him. “If you ask for another glass, that one will also be mine”, he added.
The same goes with sharing toys with his cousins or even us. “One must not play and enjoy his toys too much !”
My readings suggest that “sharing” is a concept that is not completely understood until a child is six or seven years of age. Therefore, it is not something that very young kids know how to do. Still, as parents, we want our kids to start and understand this particular concept at a very young age, right? At least, we think that the sklls will slowly develop over several years.
