“Where Have All The Flowers Gone?”

with one comment

Seeing Lesley in the following brochure of Meritcare Medical Center for its capstone project (the only lady  in the brochure) reminds me a song called “Where have all the flowers gone?” by Pete Seeger/Joe Hickerson.  It’s a folk song of the 60s but love its melody.  Though  sound a bit ”sad”, the wordings are profound or reflective.  I’ve heard several versions of the song over the years. My perspective of the song (lyrics):  it basically tells about life in general, that people come adn go. Kids grow and leave, some stay. “flowers bloom and wither”. That life is a “cycle”.  That we always ask the question “where have all the time gone?”

I’ve read somewehere that this song was considered an “anti-war” song?? Whatever…not going to debate on what “Pete” might have meant.  One thing I know for sure … this song is a good one to listen to, to wind down an exhausting day or while driving down the countrysides…(just don’t repeat too many times – it will put you to sleep:)

Well, I can’t beleive Lesley is turning 23? or is it 25? Where have all the time gone? hehe  I remember her tagging along while I attended flight arivals, transits and departures at the airport terminal AND that was some 20 years ago!?!
